Licensing and disclosures
Fit First Health Insurance is a private insurance agency in Ocean City, Maryland, run by Sam Clayland. It is not a government agency, and it is not affiliated with HealthCare.gov or any state marketplace.
License
Sam to confirm: resident license number, National Producer Number, and every state where you are licensed
You can check an insurance agent's license yourself. In Maryland, contact the Maryland Insurance Administration, 200 St. Paul Place, Suite 2700, Baltimore, MD 21202, 410-468-2000. In other states, contact that state's department of insurance.
How Sam is paid
There is no charge for the call. Health insurance agents are generally paid a commission by the insurance company when a plan is placed. Commission can differ between plans, so it is fair to ask any agent how they are paid on a plan they recommend. Sam to confirm: how you are paid
What the plans are
Sam may discuss Marketplace plans and plans outside the Marketplace. Plans outside the Marketplace may not follow ACA rules, may not cover all essential health benefits, may ask health questions, and may decline or limit coverage for pre-existing conditions. Not every plan is available in every state. The plan documents control what a plan pays, and you should read them before you enroll. Sam to confirm: which companies and plan types you represent
Government help
You can apply for Marketplace coverage on your own at HealthCare.gov or, in Maryland, at Maryland Health Connection. Premium tax credits apply only to plans bought through a Marketplace.
